Diego Tornelli - Pianos

Italian pianist Diego Tornelli has established himself as a passionate collaborator, partnering with such artists as soprano Jae Min Shin, Tony Award® winner Anika Noni Rose, baritone Douglas Webster and violinist Stefan Milenkovich. Mr. Tornelli has performed at many U.S. venues including the Music Academy of the West, Washington State University, Kalamazoo Music Center, Puerto Rico Classical Concert Series, and CAMI Community Concerts. He has toured and appeared internationally in South America and Europe.
 
In recent years, Mr. Tornelli has been part of three major productions of Leonard Bernstein’s Mass - at Carnegie Hall, at the Jubilee Year Celebration at the Vatican, and with the Dallas Symphony. He is a staff accompanist at The Juilliard School where he also completed his studies with renowned collaborative pianists Jonathan Feldman, Samuel Sanders, Margo Garrett, Brian Zeger and Italian Diction professor Corradina Caporello. Since 1998, he has been the collaborative pianist for “On the Edge”, a performance class and technique developed and taught by Juilliard Evening Division Faculty, Jean Kopperud; and starting in the fall of 2009 he will also collaborate with faculty member Myra Vassian.

Mr. Tornelli’s numerous New York City appearances include, the annual fundraiser for the Path to Peace Foundation hosted by the Representative of The Holy See at the United Nations, Symphony Space, The Rainbow Room, The Algonquin Hotel, 180 Maiden Lane Juilliard Concert Series, Steinway Hall, Alice Tully and Weill Recital Hall. 2009 marks the beginning of Mr. Tornelli’s collaboration with the Castillon Trio.
