Erika Schroth - Piano Currently a member of the piano faculty at Wesleyan University, pianist Erika Schroth holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Michigan, and has studied with Arthur Greene, Martin Katz, David Worth and Martin Canin. She served formerly on the faculties of Oakland University, St. John’s University, the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, and the Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts, and has spent several summers teaching and performing at the Interlochen Center for the Arts. Since 2005, she has been a member of the faculty of the Elm City Chamberfest, and since 2004 at the Neighborhood Music School in New Haven, CT. Her students have been finalists and prizewinners at numerous competitions, including the Renee B. Fisher Competition, the Tishler Competition, and concerto competitions at Wesleyan University and Interlochen. Schroth performs regularly throughout the U.S. as both a soloist and a chamber musician. She was a member of the eclectic chamber music group, L’Ensemble Portique, specializing in contemporary music. Recent and upcoming engagements include recital appearances in Wisconsin, Maryland, Michigan, Connecticut, Oklahoma, Florida, New York, Virginia, and Texas. A multidisciplinary artist, Schroth maintains
an active career in theater as well as music, and was engaged during the
2005-2006 season as Musical Director for the internationally renowned
Yale Repertory Theater. She also serves as music advisor for the Broken
Chord Collective, a consortium of composers and producers who create music
for film and for leading professional theaters. |
